Earthquake in Japan
A 8.4 magnitude eathquake hit Japan this afternnoon about 1430hrs,their time, several tidal waves have also hit the northern pacific coast. I have been watching it live on the TV which has shown one of the tidal waves extending up a river in northern Japan and wiping out farms, houses, and vehicles attempting to escape the water.
Hope all is well for you and yours CDNSushi and my thoughts are with the people of Japan

***. Looks pretty rough on the coasts.
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

My first reaction to the news was to think of CDNSushi as well. Hope we hear from him soon.
I'll be keeping the Japanese people in my thoughts and prayers today.

Part of the job is to watch the news during work.
So far the latest is it was an 8.9 the happened 80 miles off the coast. Has caused tidal waves up to 30 feet hitting mostly the NE region. Toyko has faired pretty well.
Waves of 3-6 feet will be hitting Hawaii at 7am Central, about 10 minutes. Waves expected (mostly in the NW US) of 2-4 in the next 3-4 hours.
Three US Navy ships in route to aid Japan.

That crossed my mind too.
For the rest, all we can do is pray that many will be spared, that survivors who are trapped will be rescued, and that the country will recover quickly from the damage.
