As to your father's name, you can contact the state department of health in the state of your birth and request a copy of your birth certificate. That should have information regarding your father's name and birthplace. If that information is available, you can then repeat with birth certificate. You may also have the information on his parents. At this point you may have enough information to make sense of the Ancestry migraine.
The only problem is the person listed on my birth certificate is not my biological father. I know! MORE HEADACHE!!! lol Thanks though, good advice!
