Hunter Sporran

I've been on a leathercraft kick lately. I started this hunter's sporran and decided itv looked rather plain. I had a bunch of horse hair left over from my last sporran, so I made some tassels out of it for this sporran. Does it work?

Personally, I think the sporran looks good and sturdy but the horsehair tassels are a little incongruous... like they don't belong. Maybe I'm not used to seeing something like this but maybe they actually are bit much for a simple -- albeit nice looking -- leather pouch.

If you want to jazz up the leather, maybe try some tooling and/or studs?

I think it's a step away from the norm and that is always a good thing in my book. Take a wee bit of tradtional, and contemporise and personalise it to go with your own style. An A+ in my book!

Man, that's a really nice touch with the horsehair sporrans. I like the sporran.

I like it too. What do you think about some braided leather to frame the sporran sections? Maybe to go over the stitching on the front and around the lower portion.

Thanks, everyone. It was an experiemental project just to see what it would look like. I think I better slow down. I have almost 10 different sporrans now and only 2 tartan kilts.
