Mine too. My wife lectured me for a quarter of an hour yesterday morning about the risk I would be taking in going regimental – I was wearing my new kilt for the first time, and was about to leave for church.
(Pictures to follow, but none were taken yesterday.)
It turns out my son had been egging her on to give me that penny lecture, and the young blighter has not said a word to me.
Then in the afternoon (shortly before I left for work) my daughter and her husband arrived for lunch, and neither of them said a word about the kilt (neither has ever seen me in one before).
Anyhow, when I got home from church I took the underpants off, and went to work regimental. No comment on that aspect whatever.

Mike

Boots, blondes and brunettes aside, I've found there was a lot of truth in that show, with a guy suddenly saddled with a family castle that is far from a paying proposition. It's a common problem with big old houses - and not just in Scotland. The writers did all they could with every kind of plot variant until the series just seemed to run out of gas. Or perhaps the older actors couldn't keep it up. uInterestingly enough, the actor who played Killwillie is a real aristocrat - that voice and face were just perfect for his character.
Perhaps those film crews are the ones now making movies about catching unaware Roman legionaries regimental, so to speak. Despite bad weather, the economy, and lots to do elsewhere, Scotland still draws the tourists. Ingenuity about making the most of things I think.

I can vouch for "Ballykissangel." I loved that show.

Finally made it to season 3. A good show and the bridge being out with the makeshift traverse...hysterical! Not sure who i enjoy more, Duncan or Gauley (sp?).

Spartan Tartan: Glad you are enjoying it. Season 3 is one of my favorites, if for no other reason than it is one of the longer seasons - lots of good episodes.
There is a scene in which Katrina explains to Lexie how Golly got his nickname, but I thought it was earlier in the series. But, my memory is being erased, so I must be wrong. It's probably those not-so-wee drams I drain while watching. ;-) Slainte!

We just finished season three the other night and I totally forgot Stella, the woman from the bank who was supposed to straighten out Glenbogle (Alexandra Gilbreath). Definitely appealing (to me anyway) with the short business haircut, huge eyes and - shall we say - a trim but athletic build. She was a "bad guy" on the series but, hey, I thought that the Evil Queen in Disney's Snow White was hotter than the titular character anyway...

Greg: Thanks, but she'll always be just Iona to me. ;-)
AA: I read somewhere that Ms. Gilbreath is an accomplished Shakespearean actor. It was fun watching her do comedy. I kept waiting for a soliloquy - "Sleep that knits up the ravelled sleave of tweed".

I received season 1 last week (DVD) and the wife & I watched two episodes. I'm thrilled to see a show with a character in a kilt that's accepted, instead of being made fun of, or thought of as odd. I'd like to see more of that in mainstream T.V. There are some really funny scenes, and it's taking great discipline not to watch the entire season at once.

You have to have discipline. No you don't.
Danaidh: It's a hard show to ration out. Good luck. My wife and I gave up. We decided you can't have too much of a good thing. We're on our 3rd go round. :-)
You're going to see some great kilts and other Scottish attire at their games, ceremonies, and parties - formal and informal. Enjoy!
