Sore <package> from regimental klt wearing
So I am pretty new to wearing the kilt and I absolutely love it. In fact I cant wait to buy more so that I can wear one everyday of the week.
Now my question may seem weird, but when I go regimental and wear it for a long period of time it seems like I get a sore <<package>>. In other words its as if since there is no support (like a bra would hold up breasts or underwear will hold up balls) that my <<package>> is getting sore from just hanging there for such long periods of time...
Is this normal, do any of you experience this? Dont get me wrong, I definitely enjoy the freedom involved with wearing a kilt, but I am curious about whether or not what I a describing is normal...Or maybe the sporran has something to do with it?
Thanks for any feedback

If you're a boxers kind of guy then the amount of support isn't really all that different in my experience. I can't speak to briefs. On occasion a stiff leather sporran and plenty of walking has led to some bruising of the fruit, which may be your situation.

not sure if it's the same kind of "sore" (friction vs. gravity), but I have 2 words for you:

Doesn't sound right to me. For many tens of thousands of years, men have been 'hanging' around without pain or support. There is a condition called torsion testicle and also there is scrotal hernia. Both can be fixed, but they require action sooner rather than later.
Take your danglers to the doctor and get a professional opinion.

I suppose if you are used to Y-fronts (tidy whiteys) there COULD be a support issue. I'm guessing Rocky has the right of it though, and it's a friction issue.
Whether the issue stems from general 'exposure' to the wool, or is a symptom of your sporran being worn too low is another story.
If your sporran is continually bumping your 'package', you're probably wearing it a bit too low.

In a nutshell(no puns intended) if you're bits are raw the body glide Rocky advises works well. Powders are your other option. I use Equate foot powder from Wally World. It's more effective than baby powder, and the "cooling" sensation is not as intense as Gold Bond(I won't make THAT mistake again!). Plus it's cheap.
If your problem isn't irritation but actual pain, get to a doc pronto! I had a pretty bad case of epiditimitis a couple of years back and the doc flat scolded me for going a week before going in. I thought it would just go away. By the time I went in I had to take the elevator because I couldn't walk up the stairs. The general rule in the medical community is that if there is testicular pain or swelling treat it as an emergency. There is really no condition that results in pain and/or swelling in the testicles or scrotum that isn't potentially very serious. It's almost always the result of an infection, a lack of blood flow, too much blood flow or trauma. Left untreated, testicular torsion, epiditimitus, and any other condition can lead to having to have it removed. That's not something any of us would want, and it can be avoided. I was told that if I had waited a few more days I may very well have lost Pong, and Ping might have been in bad shape by then because the infection could have spread. Scared the hell out of me, but taught me a lesson.
In short, if your "boys" are hurting get a medical opinion ASAP.
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

Soreness
I can vouch for Bodyglide. I use when hiking and it is wonderful and does not get removed by sweat.

I don't know about bodyglide but I don't really think I want my dirk and dangles to be slippery. I do know that if I wear my piping sporran (large horsehair sporran) it holds my kilt down harder and I SOMETIMES get a friction issue. If ya have to throw some black boxer briefs on there isnt any shame in it. But the advice above is great. My wife does nuclear medicine and scans for testicular tortious. And she said she has never seen a man in so much pain before. And it's because he waited ONE day before going to the ER.

After spending 12 hours of a crawl regimental (with bodyglide stowed away in the wife's purse in case a re-application was needed), I will never wear my kilt in any other way ever again. It was liberating, comforting, and for this sufferer of a testicular torsion at a very early age (13, corrective surgery at 15), the most comfortable my meat and two veg has ever been.
However, squatting to pick things up usually means my taters will go below the hemline of the kilt (weightlifting background, I can and do squat "**** to ankles"). So if something gets dropped, someone else is picking it up... or someone is getting an eyeful of my elephant-skin purse.

Maybe consider an athletic support.
