Wearing a kilt is always appropriate, never inappropriate. Sometimes the wind blows and sometimes others will have their own misgiving. Yet, the kilt is still a man in clothing

Go, have fun, don't work at, make it fun! Kilt them, for they know not, what they wear. Where am I now?

Just be aware, the 17th is the date St. patrick died; it's not his birthday.

Ah, but if one believes in reincarnation. . .Maybe his brother IS Saint Patrick!

I wore my All-Ireland tartan kilt today and received many compliments (even an enthusiastic thumbs-up from a bus driver) and a mixed compliment from one young man sitting on a patio having a pint: "I love the kilt but it looks kinda Scottish. But it's still okay." In all, a good day.

Is St. Patrick's day a day for kilts?

Only if you don't mind pretty gals snuggling up close to you to be photographed with you!

From the feedback on this thread, I decided a kilt on St. Patrick's Day was not too far out of line ... so I wore my Marshall tartan traditional with black clinic logo polo shirt and hiking boots. My patients got a kick out of it, and Donnie Hailey's Father's Knot sporran (in black, exactly as on his website) drew compliments, as always, due to the great craftsmanship. Thanks again for the information, all! For me it was a most informative thread. I'll go kilted next St. Pat's day with no reservations, regardless of the Irish origin of the day.

BTW, nice looking lady snuggling up to you, Mael. Well done!
