Here to show off the leather work of my sheath maker Sandy. Here is the the dirk. Asked him to make 2 sheaths, one for the hose and one for the boot.

Here he does a faux stingray -



And, as the leather makers here will tell you, the back and sides are just as important as the front for quality -





Here is the boot with the faux string ray -





Here is the ivory one done in his faux elephant skin -



And just a straight plain black sheath to show, like the blade, something doesn't have to embellish to look nice -

I'd be careful about carry that double-edged knife in Texas, though, as I've been advised (in my CHL classes) that a double-edged knife is considered a dagger.

The Texas Penal code relating to knives is as follows:

(6) "Illegal knife" means a: (A) knife with a blade over five and one-half inches; hand instrument designed to cut or stab another by being thrown;(C) dagger, including but not limited to a dirk, stiletto, and poniard;(D) bowie knife;(E) sword; or(F) spear.

If it doesn't go out I would probably wear it at the Ren Fairs and with 3' to 6' double edge items around the dagger shouldn't be an issue.

I know you're looking for trades, but I don't suppose you'd consider that double-edge beauty for sale? I'd love to wear it or one like it at our upcoming highland games.
