Threads like this make me feel blessed.
My Girlfriend of 2+ years not only loves my kilts, she encourages them and wears kilted skirts herself. She was also active in Scottish historical groups before I met her. She encourages many of her male friends to try them, and supports me when others do not.
Now my Ex Wife on the other hand... Completely different story. to her, Kilts were only for Renn Faire, because they were a costume piece and a historical garment. We went rounds one time because i wanted to wear the Royal Stewart that my grandmother made to her friend's wedding, and she told me that if i did, it would completely ruin the day, and she would be the laughing stock of the entire town, and even her father (A high school teacher in that small town we lived in) would be a laughing stock.
I did it anyways. and the Bride and groomed loved it and invited me to be in the wedding party photos. Without her.
Her face was priceless.
