Fedora with the kilt?
What are the thoughts from the community on wearing a fedora with a kilt?

Like anything else, there is a wide variety in the fedora. Is it tweed or pelt or felt? How broad is the brim and what shape? Where are you wearing it? With what other accessories? What colour?
Despite the fact that I like and own several very different fedoras (fedorae?) it wouldn't ordinarily be my first choice of a combination, but depending on what goes with it, it might become appropriate if not the usual.

Please don't wear a fedora with the kilt. Please.
Really.

I have a fedora of sorts--thanks to my 5 year olds fascination with Indiana Jones and his insistance that we have matching. I do not think I would pair it with my kilt. However, if I did it would probably only be while hiking some trails or something similar. I generally don't concern myself with fashion while hiking, so the full brim would serve a very functional requirement to keep sun off my head, neck and face. Whereas the kilt would just be for comfort while hiking. In that case, it may not look good to others but I'm not out there trying to be a fashion model, just trying to get some exercise, fresh air and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Of course you can wear your fedora. Some people won't like it, but those folks are not always representative of everyone. Go with what works for your personal style.

Go for it. Maybe even coordinate with your tartan kilts?

There are no rules. You can wear a fedora with a kilt. You can wear an astronaut's helmet with a kimono. But, that's not to say that you should...!
