Is there a problem at Alexis Malcolm's Kilts?
I wanted to get a couple pieces and they are highly recommended but I sent an email to them and it took 4 days to get an answer. So when I wanted to order something I called them (aslo had a couple questions) but 3 days, 2 voice mails and a half a dozen calls with no answer I am very hesitant to order something.

I've heard similar complaints over the last year. I seem to remember that someone on this site reported some kind of probelm with Alexis, but I can't remember the nature.
However, given the failure you are experiencing, I would remember the caveat emptor advice and move on.

I talked to Alexis the a week ago by phone. Right now they are in the middle of wedding season plus they got a commission to outfit an entire new US Army pipe and drum band, so they are pretty swamped right now.
She told me that the turn around rate is a little longer right now, but said that if I ordered now, she could have me in my new kilt by late june. So about 3 months.
You might try calling her.

I guess there aren't many choices than. Since what I want is military pins and they are it, my choices include -
Give up
Learning to make them myself
Wait until they are done with their more important customers

Called and got an answer this time. She said they never received any of my messages.
Hope it goes well.

Alexis Malcolm
I haven't spoken with her a while, but I've had great luck dealing with her. I have 4 kilts made by her and 3 custom pins, 2 kilt pins and 1 flyplaid brooch.
I hope you are able to get in touch with her.

I'm sorry to hear of this Jim as I highly recommend Alexis quite often. Everytime I've called I've spoken directly to Alexis only because she was the one who answered the phone. I have quite a few accessories & 1 tank made by their firm and couldn't be happier w/their service. The wait times were normal as far as I've experienced from others. Good luck
