    Period.

Many X Markers live in countries where she is either Head of State or Head of the Commonwealth.

It is NOT there for pro and anti monarchy arguments or religious ones or political ones.

So take this as a polite warning to stay on track.

    Thanks.
I digress too much sometimes, but I hope it's noted I didn't mean to spar anything by asking the question. I am a Biblical Studies major and I love church history and just wondered why it was they came up with that law. Sorry if it was taken in any way offensively to anyone, not my intentions and my apologies for sure!

Back on topic: How awesome that she is turning 85! Very blessed indeed, both Queen and Country. Long Live!

Ohhh also to clarify, when I said "that is nuts" I was referring to the massive shift and everything when Catherine produces an heir. Sorry if that was what was taken overtly definitive. I forget things come across differently online.

Gee guys, all I was doing with this thread was wishing Her Majesty a happy 85th birthday. Would it be too harsh of me to ask those who wish to take us into realms of church and state -- and ultimately into closure -- to open their own darn threads?

No, ThistleDown, it wouldn't be harsh at all. In fact, it would exactly what is needed.

I wish Her Majesty a very happy birthday, and many more of them.

It would not be too harsh at all Rex. But in all fairness my friend, you did shift from a simple "Happy Birthday Your Majesty" to the length of her reign, to comparing her time as Queen, visually at least, with all of the American Presidents who have been in office during her reign which brought with it a bit of political flavor. That was followed by Sandy's comparison with Canadian heads of state etc.

With that said, I will gladly join you in wishing Her Majesty the happiest of birthdays.

    Best wishes,
    Brooke
