I was there till awhile ago. I saw doing traffic duty.

It was quite interesting with the storm and the rain. It was about to pour when the mass band got out, when they finished one song the bottom dropped out and everyone, including the band, ran for cover. The tent I took cover in was being battered so a me and a few people had to hold it down.

Like Nick says, it was a pretty intense storm. After it had passed, with considerable rain falling sideways, and winds strong enough to break many banners and standards, the skies cleared. The wind was fierce all afternoon, but it was a nice afternoon all in all. Tomorrow promises to be bright and nice.

I decided not to travel an hour and a half for the privilege of standing in an open field in the middle of a possible tornado.

Related, and very sad, is the news form Raleigh, Sanford and other areas in eastern NC, South Carolina and Virginia regarding lives lost due to tornadoes. 5 of our fellow Tarheels were killed today because of tornadoes. I don't have a count of lives lost of citizens in neighboring states.

Despite wellies and Barbours David Pope and I (along with the other clan MacMillan stalwarts) were more or less thoroughly soaked thru to the skin by the time the storm abated... that said, we still managed to have a rousing good time of it!

On to Greenville, SC and then Glasgow, Ky. See ya'll there!
