Yes, if you're a gentleman of the clan, you would be wearing a nice pair of buckle brogues. And you have three of those goofy looking pants that you wear on a regular basis? What the heck is wrong with you? Just kidding. If you're comfy, then hey- why the heck not? I'm saying the kilt is deffinately not mainstream, but the historical style, like the box pleated kilt and the great kilt, even less so. Those are the ones most appropriate for costume type wear. In fact, I got a 5 yard PV box pleated kilt with the intention of using it primarily for costume wear. It's not strictly 1690's, but it maintains the illusion, and is more appropriate to the Colorado desert in the middle of summer than a heavy wool great kilt- or wee kilt, for that matter!
