I wanted to leave the fur tassles on, but my wife made me take them off before leaving the house. Probably was for the best. My daily wear for 20 years or so have been Hawaiian shirts no matter what trousers I'm wearing so she sometimes has to rein me in when I go for new looks. I have the fashion sense of a duck.
My son puts together some of the strangest getups with his kilts, but always winds up looking pretty sharp. I wish I could pull off most of his looks, but they don't work on me. I pretty much have to lean towards the traditional, which is okay. I love flashes, garters, plates, pins, etc. I'd probably wear full dress sporrans everywhere if I were allowed. I just can't find it in me to dress "down" in a kilt. It just feels wrong on a couple of levels. Maybe in time I'll lighten up.
p.s. For anybody wondering why I'm wearing sporran hangers as well as a chain, is because I bought the hangers about 2 minutes before this photo and didn't have enough room in my sporran to carry them, so I just put them on... and yeah, I kinda like the look. (remember what I said about my fashion sense?) hahaha
