    We must keep this in perspective. The idea is "more edible" not "good" a far more achievable goal. Perhaps he boiled it in a fine ale to impart some sort of pleasant flavor. Or maybe the judges sliced it open and found a check in each of their names stuffed inside instead of oats.

    Maybe it's the way he cooked it. Put it in a pot of boiling water along with a stone and when the stone got soft he threw out the haggis and ate the stone.
