Although I didn't hear all of their contests, I agree. From what Rick told me after talking with some of their people, the first contest didn't go as well for them due to nerves.
We didn't do as well in the second as we could have because at least one piper was getting worn out - solos in the morning, massed bands, then 2 contests more or less back to back.
But, I'm happy with the results - we beat a grade 4 band, after all!

I'll see Larry and Anne Marie at church later this morning and will congratulate them warmly!

Sorry to have missed greeting some of you,
We had a great time yesterday at the Kentucky Scottish Weekend. We actually had a steady stream of visitors at the Clan MacTavish "tent", and signed up one new member with several new prospects. This was our 1st time here, and we thought the organizers did a great job. despite having weather that mimicked Scottish weather <grin>. We did visit Mark's vendor tent and thought his embroidered products were great. We'll be ordering several shirts in the near future. Even though we were tied to our booth, we loved hearing the bands all day and really appreciated the bands and individual pipers who came over to the Clan tent to play.

Sorry we missed the others who attended (we did a very quick tour of the vendors as the wee one approached nap time and Mark wasn't at his post when we went through the clan tent). It was a very small crowd this year. I suppose a combination of the rain and the recent discussion of the games' demise must both have contributed. Here's a quick pic of me and the wee one this afternoon.
Kenneth,
It was a pleasure meeting you, your handsome son, and your wife - Steph really enjoyed her conversation with her!
Here's to next time mate!

Likewise. Hannah really enjoyed talking with Stephanie as well. You guys are a great couple and I'm really impressed to see two ex-marines doing duty as school teachers, especially in your respective fields. Good on ya and my heartfelt thanks to both of you for your service, present perhaps even more than past.
Cheers!
