Positioning of flashings

I bow to your superior experience in these matters, all I can say is that my flashes haven't been caught - yet.

But what about those who live in the southern hemisphere? And do things get weird when you cross the equator? Is this like water going down the plug hole?

Weird you say, crikey, we are all walking around down here upside down. Makes it tough to keep the kilt down, let alone worry about were are flashes are positioned

Please note all kilt wearers. Every direction is North and you are in every time zone, so wear your flashes anywhere.

Just in case anyone is interested, the official competition rules for Drum Majors says:

FLASHES
Leading edge of front flash to be vertically up front of leg.

Unless one is in the USMA pipe band. At West Point the regulations call for the flashes to be worn in the 9 and 3 o'clock positions.

At my first parade the drum major said to have them forward of center so that they are more visible as we approach.

Re MOR:
Well, I'm retired USAF, so I'm not as concerned with 9 & 3 as I am with making sure they are the right height off the ground. You know... "Off we go into the wild blue yonder..."
