I've never tried a simple strap, the thing about the clips is they allow the sporran to lay flat. Does a flat strap work that way?

It works on mine. I much prefer the single strap to all that hardware.

Thanks! They were listed as "SIX LEATHER PURSE OR BREIF CASE LOCKS NEVER USED", go figure?! I hadn't seen them before or since on eBay. I uaually troll the leathercraft section and stumbled across the listing. I had hoped that their package would give a clue to their origin but when I received them they were in a generic baggy! No labels, nothin'. I've searched the internet with no success in finding a source. If I ever find a source I will share!

Thanks! I went with brass hardware since the pin lock was brass. I normally would go with white metal on black, but I really like the look of the antiqued brass.

Springfield Leather has a bunch of different types of turn locks but I don't see anything with a long post like that.

Googling "turn lock" might turn up something if you can weed through all the non-relevant results.
