Jock... You took the words right out of my mouth. Every 7 years, Colorado has a moth invasion. This is the summer for it. I know that cedar chests have historically been used as a protective container from moths because cedar is a natural pesticide. This company sells a concentrated cedar oil:

It's insanely expensive... but but I saw 2 ruined kilts in those photos, which is a whole lot more expensive.

Cedar Oil, 8oz goes a long way.

ForresterModern had another link a while back as well.

BTW: Nighthawk, I tried calling you again last night and still got your phones VM. If you're available, I'll call you this afternoon.

Only fear of that would be the location of the problem may cause some legal issues... Don't want anyone getting in trouble for Actual indecent exposure, we get enough allegations of that without holes (and WITH undergarments that would make it impossible)

Exactly. You have succinctly summarised my point - so why the adversarial tone?
I did not intend an adversarial tone, any more than you did. I just noticed the multitude of references in your posts to the "regimental" angle. If, as you claim, your point was that kilts should be properly stored regardless of how they're worn, why all the drama about "regimentalism"?

I think the title of this thread pretty much set the tone, in terms of drama, whether you meant it to or not.

At any rate, we agree on what matters, so I see no reason to quibble over 'tone'.

The bottom line is moths like wool and you must protect it. I am sure the climate of where you live has a role as well.

I didn't know people still had moths. I remember my great grandmother had moth balls EVERYWHERE but I haven't seen a moth in ages.
