Removable apron.

I'm going to start making another kilt in a couple weeks. I don't wear traditional kilts, but I would like use a couple of the tartans that I've seen to make the apron. I'll only need a yard of various materials, but I don't know who to get the material from. I do wash mine as needed, but never use the dryer. I would like to get a chunk of the X-mark tartan, as well as Black Watch, and maybe some bright yellow tartan (unsure of the clan name).

Several of the vendors and advertisers here can probably get you the material you're looking for. USAK, STM and Scotweb come to my mind first, and other sponsors on the right side of your screen can probably help as well.

Any number of members might have a yard of the XMTS tartan left over...contact Steve as he might know who does, or have a bit himself.

I would assume you're looking for PV(as that is what I would use for such a project) due to it's washing machine-friendly nature. If acrylic material would be suitable Frugal Corner sells it by the yard, but I haven't checked their selection or price for a while.

The yellow tartan you're thinking of is likely MacCleod, commonly called "Loud MacCleod." It's pretty widely available, and most anyone who sells tartan will have it or can get it.
