That makes sense... darn 'Mericans with our backwards cars and non metric measuring system. ![Laughing](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
And... I'm going to try the towel idea. Maybe even give the belt thing a try, but I like the towel thing, I can just sit on it while driving and leave it in the car.

The towel idea wouldn't work for me, but the belt trick works quite well.
And as for "darn 'Mericans" well, you can always request your pleats fashioned flowing to the left for driving 'Merican cars! ![Very Happy](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
You're right though, I haven't figured out why 'Mericans aren't "smart enough" to handle transitioning to metric.

Forgot about the belt idea. I will give it a try.
I would only carry a towel if I was hitchhiking the galaxy! ![Rolling Eyes](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)
As far as transitioning to metric, I havn't figured it out yet! . A 7.3152 metre kilt just does not sound right.

Chris.
Oddly enough, the USA made metric units legal before the UK did. We just have two systems. Fortunately, we don't have two systems of driving.

Some might even find it hard to believe, but here in the USA, there are some parts of the government that will only accept numbers in metric. For example, on FCC licenses, elevations above sea level, height of structures... all need to be in meters.
