Definitely an honor I can agree with.
I can think of nobody that I'd rather see this honorary title given to. Barb's ability to take her academic background and Elsie's experience and put together a "how to" guide of kiltmaking has taught hundreds of people what I believe to be a dying art. Her contributions to the kilted world and amateur kiltmakers are well worth the recognition.
On a personal note, I was privileged to have the opportunity to meet with her in person on a couple of occasions when we lived in close proximity to one another. It was very fun comparing construction techniques, discussing the intricacies of kilt design, and laying out a kilt together with her. I am now proud to call her a personal friend!!
