You know, I've never taken a dip in the Great Salt Lake. I'm not sure why. Of course, I've heard it's more diluted now than it used to be.
After seeing photos of what Saltair I looked like, I have to say Saltair III looks kind of disappointing.
By the way, I was in Edinburgh Castle (the store) a few years back. After asking the clerk about the Utah tartan and being told it was a restricted tartan, he told me there was a RSL tartan in the works, but I haven't heard anything about it since then.
yes the saltair three is disappointing compered to the first, and since this is for the scarf i wont put up pic's. but in the 80's it was on its way to being just as good. it had a water park and stuff attached.
but in i think 83 the lake rose several feet flooding it all out.
the water reseeded, and in....... 87 did it again.
now they just do the occasional concert when they can,
and just wait for the next flood.
as for the RSL tartan. at one point we had a Scottish born striker
DR. Kenny Deuchar( yes he is a certified Med DR) and
Scottish Born Ian Joy, on the roster.
and rsl were trying to get tartans made up,
but i think they only looked at the wool option and bowed out.
Some Fans did get the Lindsay Tartan To wear to support him,
but they got the kilts after the season and he left in the off season.
i dont know what those boys did with them, maybe some still have them LOL
