A decision has b een made....

If you need permission from your wife (or anyone else) to wear the kilt (or anything else) you shouldn't wear it !

    Good Lord!!
Like Graham, I can't believe I missed this post. dana you have to do whatever it is that you feel you need to do. 25 years is a great investment and you have to take that into consideration. I'm not a shrink or anything like that so I tend to stay out of the business of others and let them make their own choices. My "free" advice is usually worth exactly what you pay for it.

Best wishes to you no matter what the outcome. Like many others, I have enjoyed your posts and am glad that you intend to stick around, you have some good stuff to pass on.

All that said, I just thank my lucky stars that I am the "D" in a D/s relationship that has lasted thru 15 years and resulted in a loving marrage.

Dana, Just a quick thought. A mate of mine only wears his kilt when he is on business trips. His wife does not appreciate him wearing it at home or outside for that matter. He has found remote wearing is the best solution and his wife is happy.

    Well Dana, you aren't alone.

Check out this Ebay item from earlier this week:

    Description (revised)

"IT'S A GARMENT WHOSE TIME HAS COME FOR ALL MEN." THAT'S WHAT MY HUSBAND TOLD ME. UNFORTUNATELY, FOR MY HUSBAND, I'M NOT READY FOR IT. HE WOULD KEEP IT FOREVER AND WEAR IT EVERYWHERE. BUT NOT WITH ME. HIS LOSS BECOMES YOUR OPPORTUNITY."

She wouldn't even let him keep the UK sticker that came with it. (This was Ebay item #3965357597, if you want to see it.)

Ah, yes, the evil wife... I guess someone did BuyItNow... Wonder if it was one of the members of the Utilikilt Yahoo! Group who's planning to send it back to her husband on loan...

    Dana,
I understand your position...And perhaps, in the future, things may change. Till then, *I'd* like to see ya stop back in and say "Hi" once in a while (At the very least). Hang in there!

Dana, I cam empathise with you on this one. After initially arousing my interest in kilts by suggesting I wear a kilt to my Company's Christmas function (in Scotland), my wife has now turned her attitude completely around when I began wearing them often and claims she "has a problem" with my kilt-wearing (quite what this is I don't know).

Do I give up kilts because of this and deny my own "pleasure", or do I risk my marriage because of her fighting her "control"?

As with everything in life, I believe compromise has to be the solution - I continue wearing my kilts when not in her company.

I would hope that one day she will accept my kilt wearing as everyday wear and not just costume, but doubt that this will ever happen. One thing I do know - we'll NEVER understand women!
