Big Mikey (or anyone who can answer), newbie to kilts question--what's the tartan you're wearing in the pic above?

That particular tartan is Magnus Michaelis. It is a very rare tartan and only available to those kilted gentlemen of substance who are members of "The 300 Club".
OK, OK, I'm kidding. It's a fashion tartan that I found on sale at a local store. According to the gent that made that very stylish box pleated kilt, with the side slash pockets and the under apron pocket, the material is a good quality.
I just really liked it and at $6.95 a meter, I couldn't resist. So if you like it, all I can suggest is keep your eyes open in the clearance sections of your local fabric stores.

The Hand-off
Perhaps due to some complication of his advanced years, the Wizard posted the passing of the Saltire in the "Kilt Nights" forum. I, however, with my youthful, sharp-as-a-tack mind, remembered the stickied thread for posting all things Saltire. So my dear friends I present the further adventures of the Saltire.
Here the stately airship passes from the Kilted Juggernaut to the Wizard of B.C.

The two elder statesmen of the evening, the Wizard and Thistledown, between them 187 years of kilting!

Some of the assembled rabble get the stories flowing.

Nathan pipes us all in for dinner.

The Wizard holding court and if you look closely, you'll see the ever present coffee mug and yes, it was filled with COFFEE!

And finally, a repeat of the rabble. Oh, what are those striking looking accessories on the legs of the distinguished gent on the right?

It was a wonderful evening of fellowship, learning and general good stuff. And in case you missed it in the Wizards post, the Saltire is now FERINTOSH bound. Safe voyage to her.

I can offer a mooring in London, and also an offer to meet various London/South East UK members for a handover/photo op.

I look forward to the pictures from this weekend as our forum's airship continues her flight.
Colin, please don't spill beer on her! (it is neither respectful for the airship or the beer!)
Cheers

This elderly gent kept pestering the group repeating "Will work for coffee..."

We just seemed to keep attracting the worst hooligans....

Bruce BC

The Kilted Dragon AKA Raphael

The ladies just sat back surveying the debauchery.

At some point, someone remembered why we had gathered and so the Saltire was passed to begin the next leg of its journey.

L to R- Thistledown, Ruth, the Wizard of BC, BruceBC, the Guest of Honour, Colin, the Kilted Juggernaut and in front, Raphael.
It was a FAN-KILTIN'-TASTIC evening! It was my great pleasure to get all these fine people together to share a few pints and a lot of laughs. Look for the Saltire to land in Ontario in the next few days. And Jamie, that's FOUR Saltire Kilt Nights for me, three signatures in the book. Do I get a prize?
