Yeah I'm not gonna follow that rule lol - I'll be 50 in a few months and 99%* of my non-work wardrobe is jeans and death metal concert T-shirts. When I get my kilt and go to shows I'll still be wearing concert Ts...although I've been envisioning adding a leather vest with band logos tooled in it...I'll see how well I do making a purse for my wife first...
*the other 1% is Led Zeppelin and Rush - I had a Dark Side of the Moon shirt but my daughter stole it and I was so happy she was interested in Pink Floyd I let her keep it...

That's what I would call casual. I guess you put a sporran on because there was no alternative to these old fashioned accesory, simply because most modern tartan kilts ain't got pockets. :soda:To confuse a kilt with a ordinary skirt is a more common problem with ultra casual style but the person was 6 feet under in terms of facepalm worthy stuff, if it called it a dress. Even humor has its limits and it is common sense that the kilt is either a skirt or a shortened and tailored belted plaid + it takes 20 seconds to find such things out.

Ultra Casual it is. There are many levels of casual. I usually wear sandals & T Shirt/muscle shirt most of the summer.

I'm of the "wear what you want" category.
For me that's t-shirts (tucked and untucked), polo shirts untucked, non-tailed collared shirts untucked, and tailed collard shirts tucked. There is an exception to the tucked tailed collared shirts. When I am carrying a concealed weapon, I always leave the tails untucked so as to cover the weapon.
My Utilikilt's been worn with everything from no shirt to a leather vest. If it feels good, and you can take some good natured ribbing in some cases, go for it.
