I like it - in silk. Bow would be good too.

If I may make a suggestion
I know I'm relatively new here. I like the idea of a woven silk tie. I've seen some suggestions on the pattern, but I have an idea. What if we kept it more like the tartan design, but moved the wide stripe to the edges and created a larger blue field for the stripes to lie on.

Feel free to knock my idea if you don't like it.

I agree, this is more representative of the tartan.

If we are going to have a tie it should be in the colours of our tartan. Otherwise, we might as well choose any old colours. We are making this decision for all time, so it needs to be right.
It matters not that it might be too 'busy' or that we have nothing to match it. The only people who are going to recognise it are fellow XMarkers.
As to costing more - we have the whole world to search and source, not just the US or the UK. Although we are very excited about it today, it could take another six months before the first tie is put round someone's neck. So let us take our time and get it right.
Remember the old adage:
"Marry in haste - Repent in leisure."

Now I'm sold. The other busier designs didn't do it for me, but I love this iteration.

.

I like this design as well but I think McMurdo's has more of a traditional club tie look.

Someone suggested a gray line between the blue and the gold here you go

For this design I took the colours from the XMarks tartan.
