Naw, this was a Mormon bishop. Only bad thing that'll happen to the guy is he'll grow up to have a dozen wives.

Not sure about the "funny" part but in my area there is a strong presence of LDS and FLDS (Fundamentalist LDS/polygamist) and there is a huge difference. The LDS folks renounced polygamy over a hundred years ago.

The FLDS folks are not involved in the original post.

Three times the attempt at humor has come off as ignorance and disrespect. The underwaer you referred to must not be much of a secret, since you know so very much. The 12 wives...well, why would you by choice. I have a hard time with the one. Laugh at myself? I can't even laugh at you.

I am a pretty thick skinned guy so I am not upset at all, but you should not be "funny" for a while. It would save yourself from further embarrasement.

I personally appreciate all the respectful and thoughtful comments that have been given on the thread. I feel as though the Nation is not as bad off as I thought yesterday. Now, lets do something about that one too.

They used our parking lot as overflow on Sunday, and we used their's as overflow on Saturday. We built a new larger sanctuary add on to our building, as the Jewish community in Cinti was growing. The day we dedicated the new sanctuary, the church's billboard said "We thank God for the dedication of the new Northern Hills Synagogue sanctuary." Their minister and the president of their congregation came over with a letter of congratulation and a large floral display for our lobby. The title of my message says it all.

Wow! That's something that the Denver pagan community would do! I've never heard of a Christian church doing something like that! That's awesome!!

***EDIT*** No, I am NOT generalizing ANYONE! Just because I personally have never heard of something, that does not mean that it's never happened before. It simply took me by surprise because as far as I know, it hasn't happened locally, which is where my experience lies. My post was meant to express appreciation- hence my statement of "That's awesome!!" Hope this clears up any possible confusion.

Ugh, I think you're right. I thought we knew we were discussing how to deal with the kilt when it comes to church politics and practice.

@wildrover: It's hardly healthy to laugh at one of the most heinous breaches of trust and emotional scarring of individuals.

Aye, put one in my eye too. I was raised Christian; not one currently. Am the Director of Security of a prominent Jewish synagogue; not Jewish either. Personally I incline most toward the sort of Celtic (Neo) Paganism described by S.M. Stirling in his novels starting with *Dies The Fire*.

I think there's room for everyone. . .if we'll just let there be.

Nonsense. I've been a member of Presbyterian & Episcopalian parishes that have held Seder suppers and interfaith services with our local synagogue. Please don't stereotype all of us who are Christian.

"My" Temple has had interfaith services with both Christians and Muslims, too.
