I love a good meat pie, especially when it's in portable form like a Cornish pasty. But any type, paired with a pint of ale, makes for a happy Tobus.
Oh, and to keep this on topic: be careful when eating meat pies if you're wearing an Argyll jacket. If you spill the contents onto your nice tweed, it will indeed be "too much pattern"!
Hahahaha! Well said, Tobus!

Ah we all love a good meat pie, but just watch out for that place serving meat pies on Fleet Street! Just a few too many fingernails in them for my taste...Happy Halloween.

This clip was put up on the forum sometime ago but shows what a pie is and that the Scots love Australian "dolls eyes"

Artificer, I love munching into a good pie but, having them in a pea soup is a sin

Downunder have you never been to a pie and mash shop in London. A very old traditional staple food much loved by our Cockney friends Pie Mash and liquor, which is not alcoholic but a sort of pea soup.

I'm okay with that. Mmm, lovely piquant tomato sauce, mushy peas, a nice pie. How could that be wrong?
...and if it is wrong, I don't want to be right. ![Laughing](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

Grizzly, not in London but. pie floaters are still very common in certain cities in Australia. I just hate peas but love pies and the putting of one with the other is an culinary abomination to me.

Hate to bring the conversation back to the original topic, but I have to say you lads have inspired me. I recently picked up a late 70s, early 80s 3-piece tweed suit for next to nothing that would have done Richard Dawson proud. Top shelf fabric. Got it for an employee appreciation game show themed program at work. Afterwards, the pants will have to go, but I see a winter project ahead turning the rest into matching kilt jacket and vest.
And here I thought it would be a kick-back winter.

and what goes into a Scottish "pizza supper"? Don't ask, don't tell

As greasy as it is, Pizza Supper isn't nearly as repuslive as the Starry Gazey Pie of the Cornish side of my family
