There's a lot of that (I'm personally offended by something harmless you're doing, so you'll have to change your ways syndrome) going around these days. I don't recall, and I go back 70 years, seeing much of this before the so-called "ME" generation was born. Let's change the "ME" to "WE" and get on with our lives.

When asked what I wear under the kilt, which is not too often, I glance down pause for a moment and then say, "shoes and socks." When asked why I wear a kilt, it's because I enjoy the feel of the wind in my hair.
The other day I wore my new Stewart Hunting Ancient kilt out and about, and at the supermarket the security guard remarked he liked the colors in my kilt, and a tiny little Hispanic woman surprised me when I heard her voice from close behind me saying she really like my kilt. She was almost too stealthy for comfort, but I smiled and said thanks.

Nice response. I'm learning alot of snappy comebacks to use. My favorite so far is "Ok. Close your eyes and hold out your hand." ![Rofl](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/rofl.gif)

LOL Im new to kilts but I have to say ive hit the track running. My first time was taking my son to the park then to ASDA for some shopping . Been out loads since in it even managed to get my son in a kilt " see the thread me and kids at twin lakes lots of pics"
I love it and cant believe its taken this long to get one . I only got one to do a Bike show in Edinburgh in Aug but im already on the look out for new kilts so im not always wearing the same kilt over and over.
I will admin I did feel a little self conches that first time but after about 5 mins that feeling went .
I had a bloke at Tesco just the other day shout across at me love your kilt mate I'm thinking of getting one my self .
I have not as yet had any negative coments some joking about by friend as I would expect nothing more and I can see me getting some ribbing at a 2 stroke bike meeting in Derbyshire this Sunday, but ill still be wearing it .
I have had a couple of ladies asking me what I have on , refuring to under the kilt and say I cant show you but your welcome to put your hand up and fined out it wont bite. one women went to put her hand up and I casually said well it may bite but carry on and she stopped and laughed and here friend couldn't stop laughing at her.
At a park recently a lady again said she liked my kilt and she asked why I wear it and I said I like the wind in my hair , to witch she replied but your shaved looking at my head . I laughed and just said shaved am I didn't know you could see threw the kilt. Then she got it and giggled.
The more you put it on the less you will give it a second thought.

When they ask, "What's under your kilt", I say, "My bagpipe." When they ask, "Where's your bagpipe?", I say, "Under my kilt."
My cargo-pockets kilt in Hunting Stewart is absolutely one of my favorites, and what is so amazing about the fact that women love men in kilts is the fact that, in my experience anyway, they ALL love men in kilts--I get compliments from young women, elderly women, "soccer moms", Goth Girls, Trixies, Blue Collar, White Collar, Lesbians, Asian, Latino, African-American, East-European, Middle-Eastern, you name it. Finally, something we can all agree on: Kilts are Cool.

I was at the park with my morkie pup a while back. A woman actually walked over to us, a distance of about ten metres or so, and said, "I love your kilt. It's so masculine!"
I thanked her, did the obligatory social niceties and whatnot, yadda.
She was a middle-aged woman watchng a softball game in progress at said park.

Update regarding the Irish Heritage Club Fiasco:
I was approached by the member who made the offending remark and he apologised. Water under the bridge. He explained that the remark was intended as a joke. I found it in poor taste but I'll let it go.
BCAC, picking battles and whatnot. Not worth the effort and not worth the fallout. I'd rather live in peace than be the guy clogging up the docket with frivolous lawsuits that will inevitably do more harm to me than good regardless of the outcome. Sentiment and support appreciate, though.

Aye, my girlfriend was all derision when my first kilt arrived and I was trying it on at home, but that came to a screeching halt the first time I wore it in public and she was with me. We were at the Opera, and not only was I getting compliments from women at every turn, but every time she left me--to go to the bathroom, get a glass of wine, etc.--she'd return to find me surrounded by other women. Now, the idea of me being out and about alone while kilted is her biggest worry, and one she tries to prevent whenever possible. She's on me like a cheap suit!
