I haven't changed my hairstyle in 27 years, does that make it traditional?

Only when worn long with the special sporran...

I think bear greasing is the traditional hair style for you. LOL! I have had several different hair styles, but to each their own. I guess you could lop off some hair and put it on the tassels of a sporran.

I looked it up. Female patern baldness is also known as "androgenetic alopecia," and there is a lot of information about this on the web. I will also point out that many people, men and women, lose their hair from medical treatments and probably other reasons. Just thinking of all the women I know who have gone through cancer treatment and lost their hair for a while.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

And I'm not going to argue with string!

Thanks
Just to bring it full circle, I read over the posts in this thread. This is truely one weird thread. I keep thinking that there will be no more posts, then someone else finds it and wants to talk about the hair that goes with their kilt. It's been fun sharing all this information and culture, and I want to thank all of you again for your input.

Just beware the folks that make their own sporrans out of human hair...from their backs.

Here's an idea. Perhaps this applies to hair and hairstyles as well. For example, if most of the people in a culture or sub-culture have long hair, then short hair would look weird, or the other way around.
I seem to remember reading about one of the Russian Tsars putting a tax on beards to encourage a western clean shaven look. Here in the U.S. you can just about see anything, and I think we've gotten used to seeing unusualness; not that we like what we see all the time. Kind of like out here in the desert, you get used to seeing everyone in shorts, or to bring it back on topic, kilts and sandals are Ok.
I guess hair styles would include beards and shaving. I'll throw in here that I stopped razor shaving on Dec 23, and have been keeping just a stubble beard for.. I guess a couple of weeks. I'm going scuzzy with my kilt look for now... I think. And of course, I have my long hair and ponytail. I'm not sure that I would look so... correct in the way I wear clothes with my kilt. Keep in mind though, I'm an artist and a little strange. LOL!

All artist have their eccentricities...whether sculptor, painter or poet.
