I was going to guess "weathered Bicknell", but it seems I got back to this thread rather late.
Ordinarily, I'm not too fond of weathered tartans, but the Buchanan Old Sett is one exception.

So, Hamish! Here's an offer. I would love to be the one to make your 100th kilt, whatever it is. You buy the tartan, I'll donate the kiltmaking and make sure it arrives at the right time to be your 100th kilt!

Barb! What CAN I say? That is such a very kind and generous offer - and one I have no hesitation in so gratefully accepting. I will get my thinking cap on and will be in touch, although I think there might be a slight lull in the accumulating procedure once the three/four currently on order have been received.
A recent, and latest, suggestion came from Scotland proposing that I should have my own tartan designed for the occasion! A brilliant idea, but I'll need time to think about that - time that I do not currently have! It would be fun though.
I am still reeling from your kindness, Barb. Thank you so much.
Take care (and Hogs and Quiches),
Ham.
