I remembered this thread when I saw an Ethan Allen ad on TV. The same image is on their website in the video "5 signature lifestyles," where I grabbed this screen capture.

Not the Orvis jacket that Barb found, more like the waistcoat that Mael Coluim sports in this old thread.
Proudly Duncan [maternal], MacDonald and MacDaniel [paternal].

I'm pretty sure that this guy would love one.

And yes, that is an actual picture from an actual website for a store here in Dallas. They call it their "Scottish Highlander" costume.
"My beloved America, thank you for your children. If your children want to become soldiers I will train them. When they are hungry I will feed them. When they are thirsty I will give them water. When they fight for freedom I will lead them. When they are unsteady on the battlefield I will motivate them. If they die on the battlefield I will bury them. So help me God."

I know this post is from awhile back but I missed it the first time around.
Perfect timing with hockey playoffs in full swing as the only one that came to mind that could come close to pulling it off would be Don Cherry, Hockey Night in Canada's flamboyant spokesman.
For those that havent heard of or better yet had a chance to see him, he is a sight for sore eyes (literally)...Google him and take a look at some of his suits. He woul;d look great in this!!

I don't know,
I think the fact that the smaller tartan pieces (pockets) don't really line up with the jacket itself (or the tartan in the pockets for the matter) would get to me...
Not sure...
Mybe I need to look at it again...
Yeah, hmm... dunno. (Maybe I kind of like it...) I do know people that could pull this off... I'm not one of them...
One more look...
hmmm...

Words fail me.
This is a good reason for old threads to stay buried!!
