I sincerely hope that The Kilted Mohawk hasn`t left us for good, as he is a very enthusiastic recent convert to kilting, and I have very much appreciated his fresh perspective on things. Kilted Mohawk, hope you are still here!

    I'm still here. Fret not.

I just decided to deleted my posts, and to avoided the embarrassment of this unnecessary spotlight for the XMTS members, and the lurking kilt-curious guests who may got the wrong impression of this wonderful forum. I do still love this forum.

I simply put him on the ignore list which was shameful, but necessary. Just move on, and continue kilting.

I hope the moderators have noted what took place here. This wasn't normal Xmarks.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

    Really? Not normal X Marks?

Well in fact, you're right. It wasn't "normal" X Marks, because in normal X Marks the Scot, nobody rocks the proverbial boat. It boggles my mind that so many of you don't see what's plain as the nose on my face to me and a couple of other folks here. But OK then. You don't see it.

You all can think that you don't want to look like "them"..those "slobs"... whoever they are. Those people whose shoes aren't clean enough for you; we mustn't be like "them". Those kids who "sag" their pants - that's a favorite. Mustn't be like "them". You all can settle in nicely with your notion that you/we know best, that our debonair taste in tweed and tartan clothing makes us just a bit classier than "those people", or just a little bit better than the ignorant who might .....God Forbid..... commit the horrible sin of not dressing, in your opinion, appropriately for the occasion, and enjoy the forum of like-minded folks.

    Carry on.

Regarding thekiltedmohawk, I'm glad he hasn't left. Folks don't have to agree with each other to be able to make contributions here. He has every right to put me on "ignore" if that makes his experience on XMTS more pleasant. I am, however, sad that he edited out his posts.... kind of makes this whole section of the thread sort of pointless.

I was going to add, or at least say something, but, my friend, you said it all.

I wear boots, knee high Highlander, and I hate hose and low boots and shoes. There, I said it, and I don't care what others think.

People, all of us, have the right to express ourselves as we see fit. Yes, there should be limits, but who's judge of those limits? I think that falls to the various clan leaders, certainly not me.

Some people will say that non-Scots do not wear kilts. It's not normal. As a man without Scottish roots I do, nevertheless; and more frequently than most Scots. And I'm happy with it.

    Kilted Ambassador

Just personally, my husband has never had a negative comment made about being kilted. I support his wearing a kilt. Which may contribute to the positive comments!

A trawl of the web, and that's before I even include Instagram, reveals a wealth of black people do wear kilts!

So I have decided just not to give a damn what others think anymore. It's just easier that way There will be times where I may not go kilted, but that's mainly down to how I may feel at that point and what the activity is. Whenever I search on "man kilt" on Twitter, aside from the US gangsta term for 'killed', most tweets are fairly positive
