The doobies DO still rock and Jon McFee even wears kilts! We made a few kilts for him and have had the chance to meet and hang out with him a few times. Truly a VERY cool guy and extremely humble (for the amount he's accomplished) and down to earth guy. :-)
Here's my first "Doobie Brothers Concert Experience" a few years ago where Jon had his kilt on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JV2ecTfX-tE

Sadly I don't have a picture of it to show (wont upload) but I just got back from a wilderness survival campout with my old boy scout troop ( I go back every year to help teach) and this time I wore my great kilt and modern small kilt. Everyone loved it! I even slept with just my great kilt in 30F wet weather! worked out awesome!!
I drink coffee and pretend to know what I am doing.

First Encounters
For this Kilted Friday, I donned my Barnett & Struth Malcolm modern tartan kilt. Distributing newsletters in the mailroom, a member of the community where I work asked, How I was?" Exceptionally well, I replied. (The last two nights I have had 7 uninterrupted hours of sleep.) She replied back and you're looking exceptionally well, too!
A little later was talking to another two ladies at the pool. We engaged in a conversations about tartans which was rather nice.
Who else is kilted, today?

I am wearing my kilt today for my Seniors. It is just my Utility Kilt but I have it dressed up with my black hose and black flashes. Wearing a navy blue shirt and my Canadian Maple Leaf Tartan necktie. My black hat which is quite close to a Scottish tweed hat I have my Fraser of Lovat Clan Crest Badge.
I made a quick stop in a local store once I had my Seniors taken to their day programme, and the Lady Manager started a conversation with me approving of the Kilt and the way it looked. I never realised how much the ladies like seeing a fellow in a Kilt. I've even had some gents compliment me on my kilt. Wait until my Clan Farquharson kilt arrives in a couple weeks. I am now planning on my Mum's Fraser Tartan kilt. One of my Seniors even thought a Nova Scotia Tartan Kilt would look nice.
One would say I have great courage wearing my kilt today for Oktoberfest is in full swing here this weekend in Kitchener.... I have yet to see any in their Lederhosen...

Kilted at Great American Beer Festival
Kilted with my in-laws (all rented) at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver.
I'm in Stephenson "ancient" and a coyote fur sporran (loaned my day sporran to the nephew in law, so I had to dress it up a little).

Lot's of compliments and plenty of others in kilt "costumes."
As usual, the local pipes & drums open the session marching through all the brewery tasting booths.
One woman asked if I was a real Scotsman. I replied, "I am an American with Scottish heritage." She proceeded to explain to me what it means when someone asks that question...I had another beer.
Then a dude demanded to know if I was commando and repeatedly attempted to expose my stick and stones.
It almost got ugly, but we hugged it out and had another beer.

I guess that is an occupational hazard at a beer festival. I had a similar experience at my daughters wedding last year with my son-in-law's somewhat inebriated brother. I don't think he has been allowed to forget it but we're still friends.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Full disclosure, although technically on Friday, I was not kilted all day.
I would classify this as, literally, 'replace pants with kilt (and hose)'
