My father's name was Andrew. I did consider being McAndrew but I thought that would be misleading on this site so I ended up with the near-Scandinavian moniker you see. I am not know by this name anywhere else.

When I registered for the forum I was looking for something different from my usual screen names which are based on my genealogy and the names I have given my cars which have nothing too do with celtic culture or kilts.
Cerebite: a follower of Cerebus, in the same vein as Israelite, a follower of Israel; Mohamedan or Confucian.
Cerebus is a barbarian Aardvark who in the course of 300 monthly comic issues over the course of 20 years was elected Prime Minister, aclaimed as Pope, got the girl, lost the girl, got the other girl, lost her, got the first girl back and lost her again and died alone.
Dave Sim, the creator of Cerebus, is a pioneer of the independent [i.e. not Marvel or DC] comic.
As an interesting note Sim intended to name his character Cerberus after the three headed guardian of Hades but misspelled it when he started creating and publishing the story.

My given name is Lynn. Being male, I grew up with "a boy named Sue" syndrome. I took to the nickname Lynx in real life. I spent a lot of time on IRC(dalnet) during the early days and someone else was using the nick Lynx. I had at the time just seen a video of "Cats" and thought Jelico would be a cool nick. I have used "Jelico" or "JelicoCat" as an online nick ever since.

Now, my entire family (and family-in-law) have seen me kilted to the extent that I get questions if I'm in p*ts. So, it really doesn't matter at this point to me. I was also a little concerned over work, but I've finally gotten to the point that I just don't "give a pair of trowsers" any more what anyone thinks.
And amusingly enough, Nick: every time I've seen your nickname, I've always expanded DSM as Digital Standard Mumps, one of the (now defunct) programming languages I've used in my career. This particular language may actually go a long way to explaining a large number of my personality problems and quirks.

My name "Kiltman" came from an incident with my son when he was little. He called himself "zoomingman". I thought it would be a great name for me in this forum.

Alan H....duh
I've participated on other forums in the past where it was all about anonymity and not getting caught and I just got sick of hiding everything. I still use a fantasy handle on my RP'ing board, but i got to the point of feeling that if I can't put my real name on it, then what am I doing, spending my time there?
How horrible can it be, to be on a forum about kilts? (or sailing, or highland athletics?) So I just used my real name.

Mine is pretty straightforward, my name, David Boyles, in Irish Gaelic. It is also my myspace "handle." Daibhidh O'Baoighill (pronounced DAV-EE OH BEE-ILL).

Mine's a combintion of wombat (for some reason I just like the sound of that word) and Muppet, my family nickname. I've used it for e-mail since the beginning.
My avatar is a figurine by Robert Harrop. Given this forum, and my affinity for dogs, it seemed appropriate.
