I was wondering if it went to NZ,
New Zealand is east of us so I guess it wont now, but NZ has a rich Scottish heritage. Do we have any members there?
More importantly, we need a host for the quaich after Victoria. Does anyone have any ideas?

Well, we DO have some kiwi members but just bear in mind that there's a difference between members and ACTIVE members. When I was considering potential recipients for the Quaich, one of my criteria was checking through the membership logs and considering the "Last logged in on" date. If they weren't here for months, I moved on.
It may also be worth looking through some of the early Quaich messages where people were indicating their interest in hosting...
Failing NZ, we DO have other members in Asia, Africa, and Europe.... All of whom would be keeping in spirit with the westwardly direction of travel of the Quaich.

Hi Guys. There are a couple of members in Queensland, Danwell in Toowoomba being one and I have seen him post recently. Also Grae in Sydney and RCT872 in the area, but I don't know if he is availble at the moment. There is also Darth in Corowa.

Updates, well the Quaich is in the capable hands of (new) member colin MacLeod in Melbourne (why should MELBOURNE get it twice!! only kidding).
Colin will take it to the National Celtic festival in 2 weeks as mentioned before.
My wife and I will also go and have another dram from it.
I know this is somewhat extending the period with one member, but I am hoping that others will see as I do that the event in June justifies it. Also, no one is screaming out for it right now but I have promised Colin I will help search for possible hosts to take it from Portarlington.
Thanks for the suggestions DownUnder, I'll get off 'me bum and try contacting them.
Hope this answers your question CDNsushi

The Darling Downs would love the opportunity to host the quaich - there is some fantastic Scottish influence around here (and some great places for photographs!!).
For those who understand, no explanation is necessary; for those who don't, none is possible.

festival organisers have mentioned officially the coming of the Quaich on twitter. I think it's great that they embracing it.
I have offered to speak about the origin and details of the quest if they need me too.

The quaich is officially listed in the festival events, see http://www.nationalcelticfestival.com/ and look at the twitter widget on the right.
Danwell....did you get my message about having the quaich? We need a place to send it soon to keep it moving.
It will be interesting to follow it's progress.
Where to after Australia? Any members in India, afghanistan, turkey, Europe, England, Scotland???? All west of here.
Come on lads and lasses, put your hands up!
