The latest forecast calls for a high of 69 F on Friday with a 40% chance of thunderstorms. As Bill pointed out above, however, that can and probably will change without warning. The weather looks like it will be Scotlandesque.

Well I went to the Torch lighting last night and i can say .... Yes yes it was very Scotlandesque. With cool drizzle and thick fog it was a wet mess....... but i loved every minute of it. To hear the pipes echoing through the fog and seeing shapes moving as Silhouettes in the Myst. Brought to mind warriors coming home from some distant battle....

Wonderful morning to go to the Highland Games. Spent yesterday near Boone fishing for bluegill and bass, catching up with old friends that we're staying with, and enjoying some hot tub time under a covered porch on top of Turkey Knob as rain intermittently fell. Wish you were here...

well had a great time at GMHG this year .. bit of sunburn from the sparse sun and wind but hey it was great

I arrived at GMHG about 9:30 Saturday and it looked like rain almost the entire day. It rained maybe 5 minutes arround lunchtime the only downside was the mud that everyone had to deal with. Otherwise a great gathering. I also went to the SMHG last October and I think they both were great but the layout of GMHG is somewhat better with the tents all arround the field Mattie
