Your tartans and Why?

Current: MacLaren 2x (Modern 1 Sport and 1 formal) Clan Member U.S. Navy (Edzell) Served 8 years Utilikilt-great for fly fishing and hiking Irish Nat'l (Family connection) Ulster (see above) Soon to be a'wearin': Welsh (Jones) (Ancestor) Michigan (as SOON as it gets here) Carolina (property connection) Civil War CSA (Family Connection) Civil War Union (see above) I would rather personally only wear a tartan that I have a direct connection to--but I do like many of the other universal tartans I have a link to as well.

Ancient Keith- My clan (Fathers side)
Blackwatch- I do historical reinactments of the French and Indian War, Blackwatch was the government issue kilt during that time period.
I have a generic plaid kilt that I made for fishing and kicking around in.
I would like to get a clan Bell kilt (mothers side) and a Duncan kilt (my wife is from the Duncan clan)

Shaw: blood (I forget where this was woven)

I still have (but obviously can't wear any more), 7 in school, blood and military tartans.

Old Strathdearn tweed: residency
Hodden Grey: because I like it and it has always be perfect on the hill
An old brown wool I call my "shepherd": pre-UK it was my gardening kilt
Black Wool: the devil made me do it! (Actually, this is fantastic with ghillies, black hand-knit hose, black flashes, black belt, badger sporran, black shirt, PC, Black b-t and lots of silver!)

and 3 pair of trews: Seaforth, Strome Repro Davidson and a Dalgleish K7 Davidson.

Ancesters of my ancesters were Robertson, Macalpine, Montgomerie and Hay. So, I like to wear these tartans and variants.
