Oh, I guess I forgot: I did get asked if the kilt I was wearing was new (employee at the same place I got the other comment - she only works there part time and I don't think I'd ever worn that one there when she was working), and I got asked if it had pockets.
One of these days, I need to either get a full-length mirror or have someone take a picture so I can post it here. IMHO this thread's a lot more interesting and informative with pictures, and I feel like I'm not quite pulling my weight in that department. I just don't have that great of a way of taking a picture of myself - my phone camera's not that great, and besides, I'm too shaky to take selfies without them turning out all blurry. Never have been able to take pictures indoors well with any camera without a tripod, though, so I can't blame it on the phone too much.

Kilted Friday, yesterday
Yesterday, I wore my Royal Stewart tartan kilt with a University of Maryland rugby team shirt and warm-up jacket, argiile hoes, flashes, brown leather day sporran, black Rockport pro walkers, and a safety sgian dubh. Got lots of positive attention when I took the dog out for a long walk (at a safe distance of course!). Next time I'll have the wife talk a picture.

Most of the time, I set my iPhone to take a picture on self-timer mode, prop it up, and step back. Dunno what kind of devices you have but you can do something similar with many tablets as well.

Yesterday (Friday, at least in this timezone) I wore my Isle of Skye with a khaki casual button-up, cream hose, red flashes, black sporran and belt, and a khaki knit flat cap. Not much eventful, what with the shutdown here, but I did get asked how I liked wearing a skirt. To which I replied with the usual "You know why it's called a kilt? Because that's what happened to the last person who called it a skirt!". Got a good laugh.
For anybody new to wearing kilts, a bit of advice: some of those stock witty comebacks are really helpful, because you do get a lot of the same questions over and over again from people who think they're all kinds of clever. Little do they know...

Stayed-at-home this Friday and the Black Watch tartan Sport Kilt seemed appropriate for Good Friday.

Yesterday, I wore my Isle of Skye kilt with bottle green hose, red flashes, khaki long-sleeve button up, black belt and sporran, and charcoal flat cap. Stopped at the grocery store to pick up some food and was asked where my bagpipes were, but that's about it.

Yeah. The general public seems to assume that all Scots play pipes and that everyone who wears a kilt is a Highland Scot.
I'm used to it, but I confess that it annoys me somewhat. They seem to think it's funny. Even good jokes aren't funny the 6,000th time around.

I know what you mean. I try to insert something like, "not everyone who speaks Spanish is from Spain" or "one doesn't have to be an American to wear denim" to highlight that.

LOL! I have been asked if I played the bagpipes. I wish I could. I do enjoy the music.

Isle of Skye kilt with cream hose, IoS flashes, dark blue long-sleeve button-up, black boots, sporran, and belt, and charcoal flat cap. Went to get groceries. Had two interesting interactions:
1. Was asked if I played bagpipes. Answered no, but the lady was thrilled when I told her I do play Celtic music on the piano (mostly traditional Irish reels, jigs, hornpipes, and such). Asked if I had ever heard of Celtic Woman, because she loved their music.
2. Got a "nice kilt!" from a guy. Asked what "you guys" (meaning whatever group I was apparently in) were doing, before realizing that today wasn't any particularly special day and that I was the only one in a kilt. Just told him it was comfortable and that I wear them all the time, and he seemed to think that was pretty cool. Said it all went well with my red beard, and that he was of part Spanish and part Mexican ancestry and had a red beard when he was younger from the Spanish side of the family.
They were really rather interesting interactions, especially for the very limited time I was anywhere other than home today.
