    You've got a conspiratorial mind.

    I like that.

I'm too far away to help though...

I'd be up for a flashmob event where we all show up at the bookstore in kilts. I'm not that far from there and have a couple kilted friends.

Someone video tape it and upload it to youtube. It would be very good for promotional sakes There are quite a few flash mob 'groups' maybe someone could try and get in contact. Not just for the book store thing, but just for a general public awareness good

Lads, I believe ScotCop has since moved on from this job. There's another thread around here somewhere where that updates the story.

    Edit*** Here it is http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...-my-job-58721/

All the more reason for a flash mob--- they can't hurt him now.

This is a thread I have followed with keen interest. It is a bit disappointing to learn that Scotcop has quit his job, after all the advice he was given, but that is his affair.
I am outraged at the major’s behaviour, and I regard it as a disgrace to his (former) rank as a military officer, and even more so as an employee at a Christian place of work.
As a soldier he might have used personal abuse as part of his “leadership” style, but this comes across to me as being more the attitude of an NCO than an officer.
And as a soldier he can surely not have been unaware that in some places, soldiers do wear the kilt and have fine reputations as fighting men.
I do feel that Scotcop had a solid case, although I have not followed the new thread enough to see the final outcome.

One point that has not been touched on is the layout of the bookshop. Does it have high shelves that employees have to reach with a ladder?
A case could then be made (on the major’s part) that kilt-wearers might in certain circumstances be inappropriately dressed. However he would have to prove that it is similarly inappropriate for women in skirts to go up ladders.
(I am not even going to discuss the question of what is worn under the kilt.)

Certainly the major had no right to ambush Scotcop with his carefully planned torrent of puerile abuse and deliberately undermine senior management’s decisions to boot.
He deserves all the disgrace that can be heaped on him.
If you live close enough to this shop, visit it in a kilt and embarrass the man as much as possible. He has asked for it in spades.
    Regards,
    Mike

This thread should die. Scotcop has long since found other employment.
