As one of your many enthusiastic whetstones, I gotta say I'm disappointed.
Congrats on a good showing--it was fun to take part in it.

That outfit?
You're kidding me?... It doesn't even fit him! You wuzz robbed Colin... I'm writing a formal letter of complaint right this minute!
Maybe they just felt sorry for him, as he looked like the chap who was most in need of new gear. Where-as you, in your Kilted splendiferousness are quite clearly, already sorted.
Check me out, the fashion Guru
Wouldn't it be ACE if he bought a Kilt with his five grand?...

OK. I am officially dumbfounded. What was sharp about that man? If it was the tie and pullover, there were others with nicer ties and coats.
Well, you gave them a good run for the money! Congratulations.

I can't BELIEVE *that* guy WON???
He looks terrible. His coat is too tight. So are his dorky looking pants. Ugly shirt collar and stupid looking tie.
Unbelievable. Simply unbelievable.
And tragically, you just know that schmuck is gonna take the 5 large and buy a bunch more clothing just as ugly looking.
I'm truly dumbfounded.

My condelences, Colin. I voted a number of times and was also rooting for you.
As for the "winner," I agree with your assessment of why he was chosen... He also has a profile on Lookbook... http://lookbook.nu/user/219965-Mr-C/looks He dresses well, and I have absolutely no qualms about his style or taste... Except for the hair. I think his hair is awful! Aside from that, his attire is fine.... Although just like pretty much all of men's mainstream fashion where sharp = boring.
This has always bothered me, but especially so in the past weeks as I've been updating an encyclopedia on fashion as part of my freelance writing work... Unfortunately for the world, men's fashion has been about as boring as paste since the early 1800s. Since then, the universal theme has been: dark, dire, utilitarian, simple, spartan, and minimalistic. Only recently has COLOUR started coming back into men's styles, but most men in the West are STILL stuck with the same bloody five items...
Shirt, trousers, jacket, tie, shoes.
Shirt, trousers, jacket, tie, shoes.
Shirt, trousers, jacket, tie, shoes.
Shirt, trousers, jacket, tie, shoes.
Shirt, trousers, jacket, tie, shoes.
Shirt, trousers, jacket, tie, shoes.
Shirt, trousers, jacket, tie, shoes.
Shirt, trousers, jacket, tie, shoes.
Shirt, trousers, jacket, tie, shoes.
Shirt, trousers, jacket, tie, shoes.
Or the casual uniform of the West:
T-shirt, jeans, sneakers.
T-shirt, jeans, sneakers.
T-shirt, jeans, sneakers.
T-shirt, jeans, sneakers.
T-shirt, jeans, sneakers.
T-shirt, jeans, sneakers.
T-shirt, jeans, sneakers.
T-shirt, jeans, sneakers.
T-shirt, jeans, sneakers.
T-shirt, jeans, sneakers.
T-shirt, jeans, sneakers.
There's only so many ways you can reformulate the same items over and over again. And in Japan it's even worse. You get ARMIES of businessman clones marching through the streets of Tokyo wearing the same uniform. Dark suit, white shirt, tie....
Sometimes it just wants to make me SCREAM!
<sigh>.....

Nah, that guy looks absurd. I absolutely DETEST the "new" style/cut of suits today. HATE them. Narrow lapels and, most obnoxious, TOO TIGHT. Just looks incredibly dumb. He's a poster boy for *new* styling. Just looks awful.
I know, "tell me how you REALLY feel" right? I mean, come on, it looks like he can't actually even button his coats?! What???
