As mid- goes to later afternoon, western burbs metro Chicago:
Zero degrees (0) F, wicked west wind, chill factor -20 F (-29 C)
Frostbite of exposed skin is a danger, even if the rest of one is bundled up. Electric gloves are in this opinion the only hand wear which can thoroughly protect fingers if one is out for very long. Fill your vehicle's petrol tank, add anti-icing fluid to same, run water through each faucet every several hours.
It is "rather cold." And shall be colder, tonite. Those poor folks further north...!

Just above freezing with snow flurries while out on my morning run. I had Bob Marley on the Walkman and,in my mind's eye, I could picture myself relaxing on the beach listening to the sounds of the steel drums. Can't think of a better way to chase away the sight of all that white crap covering the ground around here.

Whats the Weather like?
FINALLY....some sunshine.... here in southern Oregon.... We have needed the rain and the snow... I am not complaining, but have been looking forward to some sun as has everyone else... It came out finally, and at first I thought it was some huge planet out of orbit heading our way... Thankfully not.... I grew up in the desert and snow is a new experience... Have been really busy for the last 10 months and haven't been on the site... Happy New Year to all... Kilted Bob

We had a bit of snow here in Oxford. I sent Profane James a note (I assume for concerns of my driving abilities due to the eye injury) (which has healed completely now) but could not send the following photo on PM. So here it is.

My cats do not understand the flamingos.

Ah nice!
I must admit, I don't fully understand 'flamingo' either, but I certainly do appreciate them LoL

I think the pink flamingos were popular before the 60s. I still have a pair that are 15+ years old and still holding their color. They are left overs from a soccer (football) team fund raiser.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

Here in MD, it's been snow, snow and more snow. Just finished a 30 hour nor'easter which dumped about 24" on us along with winds gusting up to 48mph. I'm happy but my back isn't. Herself snapped this pic following a get together at the neighbors. Hose are covered in snow because she found a new game, kicking snow up my kilt as we walk. Turnabout is fair play so we had a running/kicking snow fight on the way home.

I was in Pittsburgh, PA putting some salt on a sidewalk I had just shoveled when a walker stopped to ask me about salt. Seems he came from somewhere that its need for sidewalks and roads was unnecessary. I explained its use to him and he went on, without me finding out where such a place is. Most of the States at least get ice once in a while, if not snow.

6-8 inches around Nashville on top of ice. It's still on the ground.
It will be gone by mid week. I hate that part it is always wet a sloppy out in my yard once the snow melts.
I loaned my deer sled to the kids across the street. I herd them squealing and playing with it all day yesterday.
