We had no rain and little wind going into the Burns Night celebrations on Saturday night, But after the very successful dinner there was very heavy rain on our exit.
Sunday was dry warm and overcast, the only thunder was in my head from the night before.!!, I had to take my coat off for sailing I was too hot.
This Monday morning It's still warm and dry, but tomorrow the storm which caused all the snow on the East coast of the USA is due in.

Mail delay
I ordered some compression socks on Friday, shipping notice was e mailed - just before the big snow in Washington DC where they are located..... No tracking info other than label creation. Monday morning their website has a notice: We will be open Tuesday, If we can tunnel in. I guess my package is still awaiting USPS pickup.
Most online businesses have the software set up to create the shipping label with the tracking number and to send an order shipped e-mail at the same time. I have learned that "It's not on it's way" until the tracking number shows received by the postal system. especially in the winter.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

What a difference a week makes! (check out writer's post above from 17 January)
Chicago weather is DELIGHTFUL!
This part of the metro is hovering on freezing (32F / 0 C) and mostly cloudy with a light wind. A day to fire up the Barbie and cook something, wash the salt-encrusted vehicle, take the Scottie for a long stroll.

It's around +12C here in NE Scotland today. The East US weekend weather will reach us tomorrow but it will just be rain - apparently the Atlantic will warm it up.

As a postal supervisor, it seems I spend half my day explaining that fact to customers who are convinced their package should have been delivered yesterday. ;)

We caught the tail end of North America's storm. Very heavy rain here yesterday. Still raining now, lunchtime Wednesday though forecast to ease off this afternoon. Yet another adventure battling through flooded roads with the school bus. We really have had some winter of it, not exceptionally cold, but more than usual episodes of rain and snow, and getting the kids to and from school only with great difficulty. Now that they are in school I will have to venture out this afternoon to try to get them home, despite police warnings not to travel unless necessary. The irony is that the one day when school transport was cancelled and the kids were excused attendance was the day the rain sleet and snow turned out to be much lighter than forecast and that day would have been relatively easy for travel.

El Nino has really shrank the size of the dart board the weather guys use for forecasting.

If the Chicago Ground Hog saw her/his shadow this morning, it was because she/he had a spotlight aimed at her/him.
39 F, wind from the NE 13 mph, complete cloud cover and rain.
Positively GLORIOUS weather for this time of year!
