Heck...what is your size? If it's close to mine I'll mail you a loaner till you get the Gunn in!

I don't have a Gunn but I got a few others that may help relieve your jonesing.

    Let me know...

Isn't that like asking a lady her age?? lol. Just kidding.

Thanks for the offer, but I'll just tolerate the wait.

And, as Colin suggested, getting the accessories while I wait helps me out a bit. I still need to find a decent belt (I'm thinking Wal-Mart for now) and some kilt hose. I bought some nice socks at Target today that will work well in the warmer weather. They are a nice grey, and will look nice when pushed down.

Here is the shoe I bought today, but in a very dark grey. Without having the kilt there to try them out, I'm not sure if they'll work out or not. I'm thinking they will look pretty good.

look like nice shoes. My only suggestion would be to go for the rolled down hose (socks) look with boots rather than with shoes. It just looks great. With shoes I would suggest pulled up kilt hose (I think USAKilts has some good ones too). Just my 2 bits.

I agree with Colin. Keep the Hose up. I think Lovat green should work well with your kilt.

I agree with Colin and Raphael: shoes = socks/hose up, boots = socks/hose down. Personally, I'd have to think carefully about grey socks with my Gunn kilt, especially with brown or tan shoes! Look out for Lovat Green or Beige hose.

Also, in spite of the advice, I'd be a little wary of investing in too many accessories before you actually have the kilt. It is amazing how you can find that items you think perfect, just don't work at all once you get them together!

I'm not criticising, Avonlea22, just trying to help (with my hundreds of years of personal experience) 8)

So you don't think a dark grey sock will go well with an almost black shoe? I'm actually reconsidering the shoes I bought. I'm looking for something casual, but comfortable for daily wear. I think I'll start another thread with this particular topic.

I went ahead and placed the material order today (I had a couple other people order tartans that are out of stock). I think the material should be in by the end of the month (keep your fingers crossed) and be ready to be shipped out by the first week in March.
