Hey Silverlake, still too cold here, just thinking ahead...did buy a roll of film to maybe shoot some indoor Aloha/Hawaiian shirt and kilt shots...

    Ron, I don't know?

I think that you should throw all caution to the wind and go full gusto for the Aloha shirt and tartan. I can see it with your "Arizona" kilt.

    No guts; no glory.

    Hmmmmm, uh, Casey,

I think that's how the Hopi's make it rain up here....

It would make the Gods cry for sure...

Ron, take a look at the Utilikilt photo gallery, 'kilts at work' at the very last picture. Tucked in white aloha style shirt with tan UK.

Also gallery #8, pic two. In fact look through all of them, there are several pics of kilts with printed shirts.

Thanks Yaish, had forgotten about the UK gallery.

A picture's worth a thousand words...never would have thunk it looked that good but it do. Its like the powerful presence of an Aloha/Hawaiian shirt is offset by the powerful presense of the solid color kilt. The tucked in shirt, which always looked sort of counterproductive with pants, looks very businesslike with a kilt. Go figure.

Found another good shot in gallery 13...after I got done drooling all over my keyboard at the most lovely Kate.

I was just looking through the "Wall of Fame"
over at the Sportkilts website. On the left side,
part way down is a guy sporting a brown toned Hawaiian shirt with a tartan Sportkilt. It's "clashy"
but because of the colors on kilt and shirt working well together it works somehow. Hamish would hate it of course but it looks kind of cool to me. Check it
    out (sorry Ham).........

Ugggh! Muddy have you no consideration for the sensitivity of my eyes? OK, maybe the colours DO work, but the pattern and tartan just SCREAM at each other.

Co-ordination is not just related to colour, y' know? Texture and, to a greater extent, pattern come into the equation too.

Sorry, my friend, you are right, I DO hate it. To my mind that is just a public expression of the misguided wearer's poor taste.

LOL! It's cool Ham. You're just coming from
a very different place esthetically and I can
appreciate your point of view. That outfit was
meant, I think, in a sort of "grunge" counterculture
kind of look which, done right, can be refreshing to
some. I just knew it would bug ya! LOL. Love ya Ham.
    Peace out......
