looks like their poly-v kilts are made the same as the trads only with poly-v. I would say they are probably a safe bet, but once again I dont have 1st hand knowledge.

Hank, for the money they are just fine. The poly-vis are exactly what you would think for a casual kilt. The price for the Europeans is acceptable.

The 16-oz wool kilts are good for the money too. I've seen ALL their offerings up-close, and they are nice enough. They're definately NOT hector Russell or TFCK... but they're good for the money.

If they were in the USA, they would be kicking the living "crud" out of everyone else.

Suggest you look at the established makes such as Hector Rusell, who do a proper, albeit less expensive kilt: I think theirs is called the Breacan [could be wrong on that name].

    James,

The Breacan is from Kinloch Anderson, but I believe that Hector Russell do a 4-yard casual kilt.

I've said before and I'll say it again, don't bypass the option of second-hand tanks. If you can find one in your size, in good condition, you'll get a great deal.

The problem with second hand tanks is finding them. Not all of us live in kilt hotbeds. I have not found any local shops that rent kilts.

There are several suppliers of used and new military kilts in the UK.

    One place I found recently:

    http://www.ancestralkilts.co.uk/Homea.html

Has stock that rotates once in a while. Since they are mostly military, however, the waist sizes tend to run in the 'svelte' range.....

If you like the traditional I would recommend Bearkilts, they look really cool. (I don't have one yet, but soon).

Svelte is an understatement. The few in my size were sold. The last time I could fit into those, I was in junior high. *sigh* The price of getting old. And I've lost a lot of weight in the last couple years also.
