Why, I think it's right ON topic! Wanna see it?

(I left my son Andy in the picture to help with color resolution. My computer just does NOT want to show a purple kilt as purple! It keeps making it blue. I think it's some kind of a discrimination issue....)

One of our Crew Leaders in California - David White - has a white Workman's that he dyed purple a few weeks ago.

He is a big strapping hippie guy, and we were working the SF Gay Pride parade together.

He had intended to go for a real deep purple color, but it wound up something along the lines of lavender, due to a new super-poweful washing machine he was unfamiliar with.

At first, he was repulsed. Then curiously intrigued. Then he wore it a couple of days, and now he loves it! He got a lot of really positive comments on it.

Gustav, on the other hand, has one that is the most bizarre collection of yellows oranges and whites... it looks like a pint of some sort of citrus sherbet!!

Another customer sent in a photo of his that he dyed indigo blue. It was RADIANT. But the thread didn't take the color, and stayed perfectly white! It was the greatest combination of colors! I loved it....

Now I just gotta get one before we stop selling them...

For the record, I was in UK HQ 2 weeks ago and they had a purple Spartan on display. It was a prototype. I think it was Large or XL. Call Otto if you are interested.. or maybe CJ can advise on size and availability.

    Heather unicolor

Anyone seen a kilt in the "Heather" unicolor? I'm not sure which mill manufactures it, but when I was looking for a casual kilt last year, a local (as in less than 500 miles from me) highland supplier came back with a Heather-colored kilt from the list of those available to retailers, in the size range that I had specified. When asked how he would characterize the "Heather" color, the retailer responded, "light purple." I'm not quite ready for that hue, yet.

    Thanks.

    Mac

Well, there are a couple tartans like Pride of Scotland that are purply, they don't look so bad.

Of course, my husband has a purple Harley, so I don't think of it as too much of a feminine color anyway. More an oddball color.

    Purple is tame

Actually, I'm just hoping my wife never hears about it, because I'm sure that she would love to get me into a purple kilt.

Actually I've noticed that I don't get a whole lot of kilt comments anymore, I have a little cocker with me most days so she gets the attention more than I do.

    Cheers.
I noticed a man wearing what appeared to be a tie dyed Utilikilt at the Fremont (neighborhood in Seattle) Sunday market. Very colorful.

If said kilt was blue with a rainbow hem, I suspect the person you saw was CJ of Utilikilts and of this very board... He owns one.
