Just remember, your kilted outfit (whatever your choice) will always be more formal than its Saxon equivilant!

For what it is worth, I do not draw any particular distinction between my Prince Charlie and my GT Doublet (Single-breasted Montrose!). I wear whichever I fancy at the time. Sometimes I feel slightly more flamboyant and will wear the Doublet, and at other times feel the Prince Charlie is better suited to the way I feel.

    Great look Hamish!

I am glad to see someone else favors wearing black wing tips with dress and formal wear.

And well polished too {he says with a grin}.

Ham, as always the epitomy of pure kilt class.

While I've seen these piccies before, they never fail to impress!

Personally, I like the Montrose over the PC, and Hamish, you look fantastic in it, have you worn it much since you bought it?

I will second that Graham. Anybody can hire (rent) a kilt outfit with a PC, but it takes an experienced kilt wearer with impeccible taste to make the Montrose work sooooooo well. Good on ya Hamish.

Hamish, you just can't miss, can you? You should be a personal kilt style consultant.

He already is, sherry, it's just that he doesn't get paid for it!
Many of us here have looked to Hamish for some time for advice on colour/matching etc.

He's certainly helped me a lot, I'm as hopeless as most males on that score.

I know! I should have put "professional" in front of the career title. ;)

Thanks, Jim. I really do not like the oft-favoured Ghillie Brogue shoes which one sees everywhere with formal dress thesedays - nor is there anything traditional about them! To my mind, they are simply another part of the 'uniform' which the kilt hire companies push onto their unsuspecting clients. One of the many reasons that I chose to wear the kilt at all is that I do not want to look like every other male attending a function and so, if I am able to avoid even that kilted uniform look by not wearing those ridiculous ghillies, I will do so! I should rather like a pair of the buckled, formal dress-shoes but I just never seem to get around to doing anything about it!
