Me too... Watching M*A*S*H as a kid heavily influenced my decision to go into the Army.

As for Kinger comments.. and I have yet to find a detractor that is that intellegent, I would not sweat it. James is correct, demonstrating a positive attitude and not accepting the comment as a challenge will undoubtedly put you ahead of the game. Don't let them laugh at you, make them laugh with you.

The only mash I know is done with tatties, however, anyone who mentions crossdressing in the same breath as kilts is a Philistine and doesn't deserve an answer.
so worry not, my friend, neither be ye troubled in thine heart :-D

    Toledo Mud Hens

Well, Jamie Farr and I have similar beaks. Maybe that's one fear.

I loved his role, loved the show. I adopted the philosophy of wearing aloha shirts when working crisis and psych wards...think M*A*S*H had the right spirit there, can help calm distressed folks.

I also have a Toledo Mud Hen's baseball jersey like Klinger wore...maybe that's the fear...that if I wore that jersey with a kilt with my beak someone would be bound to make the connection.

On the other hand, it was Klinger's willingness to go unbifurcated in a military setting that helped boost my confidence to sally forth in my little town kilted.

I'd look at him blankly, pretending not to understand his "joke" until he felt the need to explain it. Then, a simple "Oh," and turn away.

He'll understand exactly how lame his attempt at humor was, and you'll come off as being above such foolishness.

It's always a bit hard for me because, in my heart, I LOVE foolishness.
